“Stop being who you were, and change into who you are.” Paulo Coelho
You deserve understanding, empathy and compassion, all of which are integral to my practice.
Sixteen years of sitting with people through the hard parts. You do not have to know what to call it before you call.
Through self-exploration, self-reflection and self-discovery, I offer custom approaches to help you gain a deeper understanding and clarity about the roots of your challenges.
We will talk about the underlying feelings those distorted thoughts left behind: shame, low self-esteem, guilt, rejection, dependency, abandonment. Deep down you know those thoughts are not you, not part of your authentic self. They are learned, and they have only ever served your pain.
Together we can look at the core of the negative belief system while building healthier patterns and beliefs, about yourself, about others, and about the world. These are the four ways I work, chosen to fit the person rather than the other way round.
Cognitive behavioral therapy: what you think, what you do, and how the two keep each other going.
The old patterns that formed early and still run the show. Naming them is most of the work.
The parts of you that argue with each other, heard one at a time instead of shouted down.
The longer look, for when the question underneath is older than the thing that brought you in.
Over sixteen years with adults and adolescents, individuals, couples and groups.
My expertise includes changing negative thought patterns, managing overwhelming emotions, trauma, depression and anxiety, and working with people in the LGBTTQQIAAP communities.
Board approved clinical supervisor as well, so I also supervise social workers earning their hours.
